Friday Foreclosure List for Pierce County, WA including Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup

Friday Foreclosure List for Pierce County, WA including Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup and surrounding areas as of March 26, 2010. Only 18 this week. Which is interesting because I just read two articles this week about the state of our housing market. First, there was an article released by "Money Magazine" showing somewhere between a 2.9-4% increase in value for this year in 7 Washington cities. Moreover, those 7 Washington cities graced the top 10 ... in the nation! So, all indicators point to a recovery this year (of sorts). That being said, the second article heralded from "The News Tribune", our local Tacoma-area news source. They painted a much different picture headlining: "Housing rebound at risk". Essentially stating that all the recovery is at risk teetering "in the hands of an angry god"...to quote the great evangelist Jonathon Edwards. No I am not getting religious on you, but do love that imagery. The TNT author had no hard facts or data to support his argument. If I learned anything from Civics teacher,Mr. Anderson, it was that you needed at least 3 resources to effectively debate anything! False facts with no data to back it up....and you call yourself a journalist?
One such false fact: Pierce County/ Tacoma bank owned foreclosures are on the rise. Now you and I know that is just not true. We have been doing this every Friday for the last 10 weeks or so and they remain steady with an average of about 20-23 each week in the last month. Prior to that, they were way up...but have since leveled. It just irritates me that a powerful media source that affects so many opinions and decisions can release a scare/shock - story completely based on opinion with no data or fact and yet Moody's and CNN have forecasted Washington to lead the nation on the road to recovery ???????? Who to believe?

BofA to start reducing mortgage principal | AP Business News - The News Tribune

BofA to start reducing mortgage principal AP Business News - The News Tribune for the many home owners struggling to make ends meet in this economy, this could create some relief. Some 45,000 customers will qualify. Whatever the measure of effort is here, it is something of postive direction intended to reduce the rate of bank owned foreclosures that continue to push home values downward.

Foreclosure List for Pierce County, WA Including Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Puyallup

Tacoma foreclosures and surrounding areas down this week. Sorry, out of town this week and didn't get the "Friday" deadline. Anyway, activity has definitely intensifihed, economy appears on the rebound, but many remain guarded with their spending and certainly reserved when it comes to large purchases like investments and rentals. That being said, the 'good' ones don't last. In fact, it's a very competitive market for those deals that are priced right and in selling condition. Regardless of market conditions, if your house is "ready" to sell and priced right it will sell. Price, product and service have always been the key...that will never change. So, if you are looking for an expert tacoma real estate agent (well...all of Pierce County, WA really), click or call Tom Tuttle 253-686-3992 or Designed For Sellers . King County's home sales post huge gains; Pierce County to follow

King County posts huge gains in housing market; proximity is Pierce County's friend.
I too have seen much more movement in the market, but this is the first recorded statistacal data that I have seen. Tacoma homes for sale are not flying off the shelf, but more pending sales were recorded after a holiday slump took over this early winter...perhaps just a sign of early spring? A push from buyers taking advantage of the home buyer tax credit? Look for more stories to follow.
